Eucharistic Procession

 Third Annual Diocesan Eucharistic Procession

(video feed and pictures below)

On Sunday, October 14th, 2007, Saint Michael Parish was delighted to host the third annual Eucharistic Procession and Solemn Vespers celebrated by the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown to commemorate Respect Life Month. Around 400 of the faithful of the Diocese walked in an outdoor procession led by Monsignor Robert J. Siffrin, Vicar General, carrying the Monstrance holding our Lord present in the Blessed Sacrament. The procession made its way down Fulton Road to the Saint Raphael Center for Benediction. When we returned to the parish grounds, we stopped at an altar dedicated to Saint Gabriel, and then returned to Saint Michael Church, thus completing the archangel theme.

Inside the Church, Bishop George V. Murry, S. J., celebrated Vespers (“Evening Prayer”). His homily on the topics of abortion as violence toward women and children and the need to pray and work to defend the sanctity of human life was most inspiring. The day was one of great weather, fervent prayer, and many graces for our diocese and parish. Special thanks to the Ohio Department of Transportation, Ohio Highway Patrol, Saint Raphael Center, Living Bread Radio, Debby Bentivegna, our parish pro-life representative to the diocese, Knights of Columbus Council #341, and all our parishioners who helped make Sunday a grace-filled and beautiful day!
