History of Club

St. Michael's Garden Club was organized on October 6, 1955 with 25 charter members, four of whom are still living.  Currently there are 38 active members and three associates.  The 50th Anniversary celebration was held in October 2005 at Glenmoor Country Club which honored all the past presidents.

Besides the monthly informative and interesting meetings, field trips, and special events, the Club was for many years the mentor for St. Michael's Junior Garden Club.  Members have done therapy projects at Manor Care Nursing Home and other institutions,  Members work on the beautification of St. Michael's altar and grounds.  One of the Club's greatest challenges was to commission a sculpture of St. Francis which now draws young and old to the labyrinth area outdoors to view the Saint who loved all of creation.
