| Who may enroll? |
All registered parishioners may enroll their children. If you are not enrolled in the parish, you can do this at the parish office. Note: It is a courtesy to inform the parish in which you are currently registered, that you have left their parish. This saves parishes a great deal in unnecessary postal costs.

| What age group does the program include? |
Children enrolled in grades one through eight, starting in September; (Note: there is a separate registration for preschool, including kindergarten; For high school students, the Life Teen program meets on Sunday evenings.)

When does the Religious Education Program meet?
|
Classes are held on Sunday mornings, from 10:00 to 11:30. Classes begin in September, and end in late April or early May. On long weekends, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Martin Luther King and President’s Day, classes are usually cancelled. Please plan your out-of-town visits accordingly. A listing of dates of classes will be published in August.

| Where are classes held? |
Classes are held in the school building, as well as in adjoining rooms in the parish center. Two eighth grade classes meet in the rectory or parish offices.

| To register? |
Please register first in the parish. Then contact Sr. Dorothy at extension 18, so that your children can be assigned to a class. |
| What is the cost of registration? |
The fee is $55 for one child, $90 for two children, and $105 for three or more children. Please make your check out to St. Michael the Archangel Parish. If for some reason this fee is a burden to your family, please contact Sister Dorothy at 492-3119, ext. 18, or Father Brad Helman at extension 12. There is a late fee of $10 per child for returning families who register after August 1.

| Attendance Policies? |
Children are expected to make up the missing work from the class(es) they missed. Parents are to contact your son/daughter’s catechist on the subsequent Sunday on find out what the children studied on the preceding week when your child was absent.

| Class lists? |
Class lists of students are posted on the weekend that the Parish School of Religion begins.
|
| Size of the program? |
There are approximately 500 children enrolled in grades one through eight. There are currently three classes of each grade.
|
| First grader? |
If you have a first grader coming into the Parish School of Religion program, note that we request a copy of their baptismal certificate, unless your child was baptized at St. Michael’s. If your child was baptized at St. Michael’s, please indicate the approximate date, and we will verify that on our records.

There is a separate program that meets on Sunday mornings from 10:30 to about 11:30 for preschoolers, ages 3 through kindergarten. A separate registration form is needed. Contact Sr. Dorothy for registration forms for both programs at 330-492-3119 Ext 18. |
When enrolling your children in the parish school of religion, please provide a copy of their baptismal certificate, unless the children were baptized here at St. Michael Parish.
You can find out if classes have been cancelled due to inclement weather:
- By going to the Parish website. You can check the website around 6:30 AM.
- Channel 3 television will carry any cancellations up to 9:30 AM. After 9:30 AM school closings are ended. Check between 6:30 AM and 9:30 AM on Sunday morning.
