Sundays at St. Michael - Update!

Sundays @ St. Michael's - UPDATE!

So many have expressed how hard it has been these past few months, and how not being at Church has really disturbed their weekend routines. We have some good news about how we can "get back into the swing" of our routines, connecting with God and one another.

First of all - for those who are able to come to Mass at St. Michael's, you already know that we are blessed with facilities that allow for proper social distancing. This includes ample space in our church. We will now also be simulcasting our Sunday Morning Masses to the gym (showing the 8:30am and 11am Masses live on the projector) - this may be an option for you which allows for additional social distancing, while also allowing for prayer with other members of our community. Please enter via either the bell-tower or Gathering Space entrance. Of course, we thank you for all you are doing to protect yourselves and and those who are most vulnerable by wearing masks, keeping social distance, and using good judgment about how and when we come to Mass. The dispensation from attending Mass remains in effect.

For those who cannot join us in person at this time: we will continue to livestream our Saturday 4pm Mass on our facebook page and at - and that video will continue to be available throughout the weekend. On that same page, you now will now also be able to access our Virtual Gathering Space via Zoom videoconferencing technology. Our Virtual Gathering Space will be open on Sundays from 10am - 10:30am, or between our normal Sunday morning Mass times. "Drop in" whenever you wish to chat, just as you would after or before Sunday Mass! In fact, whether you come to Mass at St. Michael's or pray at home, considering connecting to our Virtual Gathering Space to catch up with parishioners who you've been missing! (And if you'd like us to expand the times that the "Virtual Gathering Space" is open, just send a note to!)

Parish Financial Update

We again thank all who have continued your financial support of the ministries of St Michael Catholic Community. As you have seen in the weekly bulletin, we have been falling behind the needs of normal operations. For example, the month of May was the lowest month for Sunday contributions in the past 5 years, and the month of June was very similar.

Our original contingency financial plans assumed a return to ‘normal’ in August, which we now know was overly optimistic, and we expect that we will continue to see challenging financial trends through next year. Our parish’s Finance Council continues to carefully monitor the financial landscape and provide expert advice, helping us ensure that our parish operations are financially responsible even as we seek to prioritize vibrant parish ministries (see this bulletin for some of those ministries, including Social Justice, Youth Ministry, and or Summer Stewardship Project).

As we consider this new reality, we again thank you for your support as it has been amazing - especially since we know that so many are hurting right now. And, we ask that you review your existing level of support. Use online giving if you can and please increase your contribution where your circumstances permit. You can enroll for online giving at | You can also sign up for electronic giving even without going online - see the form in this bulletin, or please contact Bruce Gordon in the parish office with any questions: (330) 492-3119, extension 211;
