April 9, 2020: Morning Prayer (Holy Thursday)

The Paschal Triduum begins tonight! We will stream tonight’s Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7pm, tomorrow’s Good Friday liturgy at 3pm, the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday at 8:30pm, and Easter Sunday throughout the morning.

As we prepare to enter this sacred Triddum, we invite you to join us for Morning Prayer. The words for this morning’s songs can be found below (most are easily repeated without looking at the words). Please note that Morning Prayer begins at 1:55 of the video.

Leader: O God +, come to my assistance.

All: Lord, make haste to help me.

Leader: Glory to the Father, and to the Son,     and to the Holy Spirit.

All: As it was in the beginning, is now and will be forever.  Amen.

OPENING SONG:  In the Lord, I’ll be Ever Thankful

In the Lord, I’ll be ever thankful. In the Lord, I will rejoice.
Look to God, do not be afraid.
Lift up your voices, the Lord is near.
Lift up your voices, the Lord is near.

Psalm 103: Bless the Lord, My Soul. And Bless God’s Holy Name.
        Bless the Lord, My Soul. Who Leads me Into Life.

Psalm 80: The Vineyard of the Lord is the house of Israel.

Praised be the God of Israel, the Lord.
God comes to bring redemption to the people;
And raises up his saving power for us
Within the household of God’s servant, David.

The prophets spoke God’s promise age on age;
Salvation from our foes and all who hate us.
God keeps his pledge of mercy to our people,
Remembering the covenant forever.

The oath by which God promised Abraham
That we might have protection from our foes,
So fearlessly to serve our God in justice,
In holiness before God all our lives.

The prophet of the most high God are you,
You go before the Lord, prepare the way.
To give God’s people knowledge of salvation,
Redemption through forgiveness of their sins.
Forgiveness by the mercy of our God,
By which God comes to us as rising dawn.
To shine on those in darkness, in death’s shadow
To guide our feet upon the way of peace.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now
And will be forever. Amen.
