New Guidelines for Liturgy

Following new guidelines from the Diocese of Youngstown, masks are no longer required at Mass. They are encouraged for those who are not yet vaccinated. And we thank all who continue to wear masks for their own protection, for their families, and for the comfort of others.

Although restrictions are being eased, we want to make our parish a welcoming and reasonably comfortable environment for all. Masks may be worn anywhere in the Church. Additionally, we are reserving two sections where masks and social distancing will continue to be required. For the 4pm, 8:30am, and 11am Masses, we will also continue to stream Mass in the Fannon Center (where masks are also required).

Please see the full details about how we pray and gather for Mass.

DETAILS ABOUT NEW MASS PROCEDURES

We will also continue to stream Mass online and also offer additional resources for keeping the Lord's Day. In light of the improving situation, the bishops have reinstated the general obligation to attend Mass beginning June 5th and 6th. The have also offered guidance about various circumstances where individuals and families may not be able to come to Mass at this time, due to present illness, underlying health conditions, or significant anxiety. Please see their letter below. Whatever your personal circumstances, all members of the Body of Christ are precious to us, and we are grateful that you are part of our parish family.

This is the Year of St. Joseph and we will be praying a novena to St. Joseph. Our novena will begin Friday June 11, at 6:30 PM, and the following nine days, ending on Fathers’ Day weekend.  Please see the Bulletin for more information.

And thank you for continuing to support our year round food drive. Our special ask this week is for bathroom tissue paper and liquid dish soap.

Our parish office remains open from 9am - 2pm. For specific staff members, please call to set up an appointment: (330) 492-3119. If you reach our voicemail, please leave a messsage and we will return your call as soon as we can. Staff emails can be found at here.

Note: We have a new platform for online giving. In coming months, we will also use this new platform for additional ways to connect with St. Michael's ministries and activities.

If this is your first time giving with our new platform, you will be asked to set up a new password when you enter your email address. Thank you for making your donation here. | Please contact Bruce Gordon in the parish office with any questions or difficulties: (330) 492-3119, extension 211; bruce@stmichaelcanton.org.

We thank you so very much for your continued financial support of the ministries of St Michael Catholic Community. Your support has been simply amazing during this pandemic time - especially since we know that so many are hurting right now. And, we ask that you review your existing level of support. Use online giving if you can and please increase your contribution where your circumstances permit.
