ST. MICHAEL ORIGINAL SONG
Sing Alleluia is an original song by Pastoral Musician and Social Justice Ministries Director, Jeff Fricker. It was inspired by our joyful pastor who dances down the aisle at the end of Mass! Fr. Benson Okpara inspires us to spread the Good News while smiling and dancing and loving everyone we meet!

Bishop's Appeal and Bishop Bonnar's First Pastoral Letter
Two-thirds of this Lenten appeal goes to the work of Catholic Charities, and the remainder supports diocesan ministries that our parish relies on. With the pandemic these ministries have become even more critical, and especially the needs of Catholic Charities, which is serving more and more people.
Considering this great need, the diocese has set an ambitious goal of $4 million, and our parish goal is $195,800. Our parish has been a leader in this campaign in the past, and we are asked to lead again this year.
Bishop David Bonnar has also released his first pastoral letter,Testify to the Light. In it, Bishop Bonnar offers encouragement to the diocesan Church during this pandemic, invites us to make prayer a priority, and suggests an exciting path forward for our diocesan Church.

Church Statements on Vaccines
Father Benson has received his vaccination doses, and (along with Pope Francis and the U.S. and Ohio Bishops) is encouraging parishioners to as well, when it becomes available to you. U.S. Bishops write that receiving vaccines “ought to be understood as an act of charity toward the other members of our community.”
Because of the ways in which the vaccines were developed, and with the aim of forming our consciences and culture to promote respect for human life, the bishops ask us to receive the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines if we are given the opportunity to choose a vaccine. But recognizing that often individuals do not have a choice of which vaccine to receive, Bishop Kevin Rhoades, chairman of the USCCB Committee on Doctrine, notes that, "the Vatican has made it clear that all the COVID vaccines recognized as clinically safe and effective can be used in good conscience."
Thank you for being vaccinated, as a way of protecting yourself and your family, and also the most vulnerable during this time of worldwide suffering.
