St. Michael Lessons and Carols
Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 at 7:00PM

Lessons and Carols is a beautiful service with scripture readings, special choir performances and carol sing-a-longs. It first appeared as the Christmas Eve service held in King's College Chapel in Cambridge, England in 1918 to bring a more imaginative approach to worship. These lessons or short Bible readings follow the true story of Christmas – from why Jesus was needed, to His birth, to who Jesus is and can be for us today – and includes Advent and Christmas carols. (The carols tell us the story of Jesus as well!) Lessons and Carols will be led by our own music ministry groups and lectors active at St. Michael’s Parish. The service is appropriate for the whole family. Cookies will be served afterward. We invite you to sing your way into the holiday spirit!

Following the Star
An Epiphany Concert
Sunday, January 5th at 3:00PM
St. Joan of Arc Parish (4940 Tuscarawas St W)

The joy of Christmas should last the whole season, and we will celebrate in music the mystery and majesty of Christmas with the arrival of the three magi at Epiphany. This year we will have bell choirs and adult choirs of St. Joseph’s Parish of Massillon, Christ the Servant Parish, as well as St. Joan of Arc Choir and our own St. Michael’s Archangel and JuBELLation choirs collaborating to bring you the beauty of Christmas. Epiphany marks the arrival of the end of our Christmas season – our last chance to sing our favorite Christmas carols. It is free and open to the public, great for the whole family, and refreshments will be served afterwards.
